Introduction

This file is the same as the one with the same on the web,at http://www.mc-set.com/readme_examples.htm and applies to all versions of MC-SET.

The purpose of this file is to describe the various example files supplied with the web installation package for mc-set.

Data files

Various data files used for the simulation and for processing the simulation results.

in the data directory:

File name:	Description of the file usage:
all 6i.mat	List of all materials known to the system. Further materials can be defined from the mc-set menus.(this is the old format, still used by some parts of the simulation)
all 6i.mat XML	new format (used in some parts of the simulation. It contains the same data as the previous file.
mc-set.xls	template for excel processing of simulation data (e.g., depth doses)
Au.lil	correction for Au - Files with the .lil extension: are the Liljequist correction for the corresponding materials.
C.lil	correction for C
Cu.lil	correction for Cu
si3n4.lil	correction for Si3N4
XX.lil	general material with no correction
vac si..exp	experimental setup file for example (XML format)
vac si..spc	specimen definition file for example (XML format)

These are files in the data and results directories, installed in the user's My Documents folder under the mc-set path. These include the examples supplied with the program, which are described later on, and the In the following, along with each file name the description of each file is given.

Vac_Si

This is a specimen with a vacuum layer on top of Silicon, intended to show that the program correctly deals with the top empty layer (no energy deposited there, and no scattering).

For this specimen, the various files in the results directory are:

vac si..r01	old style simulation results (used still by the system)
vac si..r01 XML	new version of simulation results
vac si..bmp	image of some simulation trajectories

Bs calc mc-set a00	Analytically calculated backscattered electron data, from the Tools menu option.
Bs calc mc-set xls	Graphical display using an Excel spreadsheet of the above data. This file is automatically created after the calculation.
